How to Use:

How to get started:

Participic is a a web based and mobile-based application. There are two ways to sign up. Go to participic.com or you can download the mobile app through the Apple Store and Google Play.

After all fields have been completed, you will receive a verification email at your registered email address. After verification, you'll be all set to use Participic.

Creating an event:

Simply click the 'Create Event" Button and follow the prompts.

- By design, the screen layout is similar on the mobile and desktop app.

- After you enter the main event screen, you'll be able to utilize the different optuions avaible to the Hosts of the event. To access these options, you can click on the gear on the top right of the screen.

Set up Options:

Info:

The first section is where you will create the name of your event and the rest of the identifying information. A default passcode and QR code is automatically created when the event is created. You can change the passcode here.

Date & Time:

The second section is where you will choose you start and end date and time. You can enter the event and view before and after the start and end time but uploading will not be available outside the start and end time.

Geofence:

The Geo-Location is one of the most exciting features of the app. With this feature, the host of the event can enable a specific location available for upload capabilities. For example, a specific banquet venue with a specific radius around or even within that venue! A topographical map accompanies this to help narrow down the area.  This is great to avoid "party crashers" not at the event, uploading to it.

Slideshow settings:

The slideshow feature is great for guests at the event who chose not to participate. A slideshow of all of the uploaded pictures can be displayed on a TV at the venue or any TV that has access to the internet. The slideshow has it's own unique url which can be copied and pasted anywhere. When a new picture is uploaded, it automatically gets placed in the slideshow and updates in real time. Great for family and friends that were unable to make it to the event or that live anywhere across the globe!

Admin Field:

This section gives the Host options to approve pictures before they go into the event to be seen by everyone and deactivate comments.

The "Upload Approval Required" checkbox gives the Host the ability to review each picture/video before it goes public into the event for all participants to see. This helps to keep the event "clean" and appropriate. At the top of the Host's screen there will be a tab that says "approve" a green checkmark moves the picture/video into the event and a red "x" keeps it out.

The "Deactivate Comments" checkbox does exactly what it says. It deactivates commenting. If commenting is  turned off in the middleof the event, all comments that were made already, will remain.

Event Cover Photo:

Each Event in the event section can have a coer photo assigned to it to help identify it. The Host has the option to take a picture, upload from the photo library, or from the phone's files

Brand Image:

Every picture uploaded will branded with the selected image file. PNG and JPG are accepted formats. Currently, only specific locations on the upload can be used. You can select that under the "Brand Position" setting

The first section contains fields describing the details of the event which should all be completed. It helps guests find the event if searching is necessary.

The next section contains a checkbox to enable the approval of photos and videos. By default there is no approval process and all pictures will automatically enter the event gallery page when uploaded by a "guest". When the approval box is checked, the media(photos & videos) will have to be approved by a "host" of the event before it can enter the event gallery or slideshow

The next section is where you can assign Host status to any guest that enters the event. They'll enjoy the privileges of having the ability to approve/reject media and edit details of the event. The creator of the event automatically received Host status.

The next section gives the option to allow video to be recorded and uploaded to the event gallery. This option is currently available at no cost during the beta testing phase.  It will be accessible through subscription after the full release.

A custom event code can be created. When this event code is created, a corresponding QR code is created along with it.  These codes are used to find and enter the event.

The watermark configuration section enables the user to brand each photo that is uploaded to the event gallery. You can type it in or upload a PNG or JPG that was pre-created. There are different options for placement within the photo.

You can write a brief description of your event and/or advise the guests of any important information they may need to know.

The Geo-Location is one of the most exciting features of the app. With this feature, the host of the event can enable a specific location available for upload capabilities. A topographical map accompanies this to help narrow down the area.  This is great to avoid "party crashers" not at the event, uploading to it.

Event Invite:

After the event is created you'll need to let your guests know about it.  The easiest most efficient way is to send out an invite. Participic has created a default invite for each event that is created. All you need to do is click on the mail symbol located next to the event. A pop-up mail invite opens up with a default message to invite your guests along with links to download and open from an iPhone or Android mobile device. The event code and QR code that you had created is also included in the invitation.  The invitation is fully customizable. You can choose to use the default invite or create your own.

The Host has the capability of emailing their guests directly from this invitation. The email addresses can be manually typed in or a CSV file can be imported. The email addresses need to be in a specific format. You can download the sample CSV file and copy the email addresses into this CSV file and then save.

I just received an invite...

When you receive the invite, you can use your mobile phone to scan the the QR code or navigate to the created event within the mobile app if the app is already downloaded and activated on your device. If you do not have the application, there are separate links for iphone and android users that navigates to the app store or google play store. After the application has been downloaded and registration has been completed, sign in,  and you'll be directed to that event.

I just entered the event...

Once you enter the event, you're ready to start contributing. You'll have the option to take a picture or upload one from your device's photo library. Video can be taken and uploaded as well when its enabled by the host. After the photo had been taken, you'll be able to add effects to the photo including filters and text. After you review the photo, you can click on "add photo" and you're photop will be added to the event gallery. When the "approval" option is selected for the event by the host, they'll have to review and accept your photo first to be entered into the event gallery.
